Christian Decor
The practice of putting in symbols that are dear to people through their beliefs has been in existence since the time humanity has learned how to express their reverence and adoration of such seemingly powerful objects. Christian décor or decorative objects had only been used popularly when access to simple materials had been available and more so, in the actual practice of mass production through posters, dangling objects, and pictures that are widespread these days.
The biblical history which is the foundation of the biblical faith and that of Christianity is filled with images, natural symbols, and scenes that would attract any type of theology that each person has. In early Christianity, decorations in tombs, paintings, and hanging objects were used quite discretely to mask their beliefs which were under scrutiny of people who do not share their faith.
To mask their belief in Jesus and in His teaching, they learned to blend well and integrate much of their faith expression to those of surrounding pagan practices, such as the use of the dove, the fish, and the image of the good shepherd.
Christian décor as Christian art can be seen more explicitly in sculptures, statues, murals, and painting that fill important houses of worship. A place of worship like the chapels and big cathedrals would never miss to have the cross, which is symbolic of the sacrifice that Jesus has made in the tradition of their faith. Mostly those of the largest Christian denomination have made it part and parcel of their own fashion accessories.
